CAVE TUBING AT JAGUAR PAW
Grab an inner tube at the nicely appointed entrance park to Jaguar Paw Cave, cross the clear blue Caves Branch River and take a lengthy, but mostly flat, hike through the jungle led by your experienced guide, who will point out flora and fauna along the way.
After about 45 minutes, you will set yourself afloat in the river with your inner tube and begin your ride through the cave tunnels and back to the park entrance. Don't be nervous, you will be provided with a headlamp, and the cave is actually a series of wide and spacious caverns which periodically open up to the sunshine and jungle. Your guide will stop you along the way, and at times get you out of the water, to show you actual Mayan artifacts which are still intact and able for you to see up close. The entire trip will take about two and a half hours, and is a must for hot weather months.
Drive Time from Table Rock: 1 hour, mostly on paved highway
Adventure Level: Easy to Moderate. If you don't mind the long (but relatively easy) walk, and don't have a problem carrying an inner tube (the hardest parts of this adventure), then floating in the crystalline waters and taking in the scenery is easy indeed. You must, however, be able to swim.
